Everybody should have access to sports!

The EACD 2024 Annual Meeting will be concluded with a Sports Festival on Saturday 01/06/2024. Children, young people and adults with disabilities, but also their families, their trainers and therapists, teachers, researchers and many other sympathizers: everyone is welcome at this sporty conclusion to the congress. Both new and more well-known sports for people with childhood-onset disabilities are present: there is room for initiations, practice competitions with professionals and practice-oriented lectures. Here too, the organizers of EACD 2024 want to bring people together and inspire them for the future. Better accessibility to sports activities and facilities for people with childhood-onset disabilities is one of the long-term intentions of the EACD 2024 Impact Task Force.  We envision that this Sports Festival will be the start of a long-term collaboration, and a sporting boost for cities and municipalities actively spreading the ‘Sport virus’ in the region for everyone regardless of one’s (dis)abilities, but all with their own unique talents.
